Me in a wheelbarrow
Monday: I got a letter!!!! from my cute mom!! I love letters y'all.
I gave my CTR ring away to a dear friend in Garden City so I bought a new one
Tuesday: Our whole mission went to Soda Springs to help build a park up there and I got to see all of my old mission pals I served with in Blackfoot (they all serve in Pokey now) and also made some new mission pals as well.
I got a little crispy in Soda
Wednesday: Last week, I mentioned we have a sauna in our house. I used it, and discovered it has really good acoustics.
Thursday: I was doing some studying on Eliza R. Snow and I decided she's my new role model. She was a gifted poet and public speaker, and she helped go organize the Relief Society. She was married to not one, but TWO prophets, and people in the church called her "president of all the feminine portion of the human race". She also said once, "to become queens and priestesses we must first be business women". Those are all goals right there.
Friday: We had zone conference in Pocatello and it was so fun!! The big city!!!! There were real restaurants and I got to go inside a MALL for the first time in 9 months - and I also learned so many good spiritual things from my mission president at zone conference. Bonus good thing: I got to teach Sister Bernal what a badger was. lol
Reunited with my true love Jamba Juice
Saturday: So, the car we drive here is a Toyota Rav4 and it has steering assistance, which means if I drive over the lines for long enough the car will move back into the middle of the road automatically without me steering the wheel. I thought it was fake but I tried it today and it WORKED. Science is amazing.
Sunday: Me and Sister Bernal watched The Cokeville Miracle together and it made me feel all warm and mushy inside. (Fun fact: Cokeville is in my mission and was only like an hour away from my last area. The elders who served in Cokeville were my district leaders.)
We got Panda Express to celebrate my halfway mark and her year mark
I was listening to this talk a couple months ago and the speaker mentioned the scripture John 16:33 which says "these things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world". That phrase "be of good cheer" isn't simply a suggestion, It's a COMMANDMENT. We were not sent to this earth to be all depressed and suffer all the time. We are supposed to be happy! The key to success and joy in this life isn't avoiding opposition, but facing it head on with faith in Jesus Christ. I invite all of you to follow my example and find one good thing every single day this week. It could be small and simple, but as long as it makes you happy, it is a good thing. And, the thing that makes me the most happy is seeing my friend's and family be happy, so tell me about them! I hope you all have a wonderful week and learn that it is through Christ our Redeemer that we find find true joy in our lives. Love you!
